Fall Finds:
J Pinot Gris, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County, California-lush, full bodied dry white; alluring nose of apricot and honeysuckle; crisp clean finish; great glass with anything from roast chicken to sushi to goat cheese and crackers. Keep this one in mind for Thanksgiving too.
Congrats to Butler University Dance Professor Cynthia Pratt and dancers from the Butler Ballet for the compelling outdoor production of "Riverrun Revisited" on September 24th, 2016. The performance was part of the Streamlines, interactive, place-based project that combines science and art. The hour-long presentation on the banks of Brookside park told the story of Pogue's Run River and other local waterways through dance, poetry and music. It also made the several hundred in attendance think about what we are and are not doing to preserve our local water sources. Learn more about the project www.Streamlines.org
Greg Bacon added another layer of flavor to the already tasty Perk Up Cafe Fall Festival on Sunday. Along with the Perk Up House Band, the local jazz musician drew in a big crowd, who also enjoyed the succulent sausages, house-made breads and cakes and a nice selection of local beers and German wines.
Bier Brewery's German Wheat, Green Hills Organic Cabernet Sauvignon and SHINE Riesling were the most popular served. All satisfying beverages available at local grocery and wine stores.
Available at Broad Ripple's own Cork and Cracker, some hard to find wines from the Languedoc region of France and the Basque region of Spain.
Don't miss the Wine of the Month Club either-great value and variety.
