The Lady Presidents EP release concert
Saturday, October 1, 2016
Birdy's Live
2131 E. 71st Street - 21+, 8 PM,
Like a lot of fine relationships it all started in a bar in Broad Ripple. Two of the band members met and one thing led to another and the indie rock/pop band The Lady Presidents was born.
The band is: Sean Thomas (vocals, guitar, and keyboard), Doug Day (lead guitar), Geoff Sears (bass guitar), Nick Gass (drums), and Kevin Jones (keyboard).
Two things you should know: the band is all men and their song, Hesitate, is great. Go see 'em,

Craigfest Open Stage
Tuesday, October 11, 2016
Aristocrat Pub and Restaurant
5212 N. College Ave - all-ages, free, 8 - 11 PM
The weekly open stage night on October 11th is in honor of the late Craig Laflin. The warm, caring, and supportive open stage vibe in Indianapolis is due to Craig's nurturing and influence.
Craig's wife Lisa, encourages you to wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt, bring an instrument, and play a song that Craig wrote or covered or inspired you to play.

Not-for-profit director by day, music writer by night, Nora Spitznogle reviews music that happened and previews music and events around Broad Ripple Village. Nora managed CATH Inc coffeehouse at 54th Street and College Avenue for seven years. During that time she hosted hundreds of local and touring musicians, both at the coffeehouse and her home. When CATH closed in 2004 and the music was no longer coming to her, she had to wander from her corner of Broad Ripple to see what is happening elsewhere. You can find her at Second Helpings during the work day, waitressing at the Red Key on Saturday nights and prowling Broad Ripple music venues the rest of the time.
