ABC
I love to read and I love to buy books, still. No matter what I am in search for, a book cover with A,B,C on the cover always stops me. Today many famous illustrators have tackled this genre, the picture/word that begins with the alphabetical letter. Many are fantastic works of art and imagination. Some are simple, some complex, some pop-ups, some oversized, and some regional. This love of the ABCs inspired my list to see if I could find the words of Broad Ripple Village to illustrate our alphabet. This is attempt #1.

So if you practice this set of ABCs with your little ones, you may be helping them in all sorts of ways. Reading the ABCs helps develop conversation skills, helps to understand phonics, makes connections between letters, builds vocabulary, sequencing, and reading. Most of all, the ABCs are the building blocks of our English language. You will be in good company if you recite the Broad Ripple Alphabet. The child's ABC book is considered one of the oldest genres of American literature. This is how children not only learned to read but learned history, and religious and natural world content.
If you want, you can also build an ABC list of your neighborhood, your backyard, your city, and another of Broad Ripple. It is a fun activity for adults and children alike. Even more challenging is a task of illustrating your choices. It can be an amazing gift to give a small child just beginning to learn our language. In addition since I marked this #1, I may do a #2. I am sure the fantastic business of Broad Ripple love to see their names in print. PS I could use a few x, y, and zs.
