I would like to say an official farewell and thank you to David Queisser, the patron saint of many independent musicians, artists and their fans. David was an owner and manager of Locals Only for seven years and Sabbatical for the last three years, and The Hideaway even before that. David and his beautiful wife, Jeanne, are moving to the white sands and sunny skies of Sanibel, FL. We'll miss them in Indianapolis, but they sure will be fun to visit. Happy Trails, David and Jeanne!

The Alley Cat's Front Room crew will be dressed in the finest Roaring 20s outfits, concocting drink specials featuring Templeton Rye, and grooving to music by Moxxie and Sa'le Joseph. There will be a contest for the best era costume as well - although you're welcome to wear whatever costume you have planned.
New in the Front Room only, cash or credit cards! - and, of course, the kitchen is ALWAYS open. Have a roaring good time!

I didn't get the chance to hang out much at the Stone Mug (6525 N College Ave, location now of Northside Social), but I always enjoyed the crowd - all of those motorcycles parked out front belonged to really nice people. The collages in the restrooms were also awesome - it was hard to walk away from them.
A group of Stone Mug regulars are holding a reunion at the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 2158. Jeffrey Lee and Friends will play at 5:00.

Fight Night III features at least a dozen sanctioned Golden Gloves bouts. Seating includes both tables and general admission theater seating. Buffet style dinner will be provided with the cost of a ticket. Proceeds from the evening help support the Progress House, a residential agency working to help support individuals struggling to overcome alcoholism and addiction. Music and art and the Melody Inn, what a fun night this will be! The musical lineup is Pravada, Molehill (Chicago), and Shadeland. LOLA - Ladies Of Local Art will be featured all weekend long in the PBR Lounge.
Not-for-profit director by day, music writer by night, Nora Spitznogle reviews music that happened and previews music and events around Broad Ripple Village. Nora managed CATH Inc coffeehouse at 54th Street and College Avenue for seven years. During that time she hosted hundreds of local and touring musicians, both at the coffeehouse and her home. When CATH closed in 2004 and the music was no longer coming to her, she had to wander from her corner of Broad Ripple to see what is happening elsewhere. You can find her at Second Helpings during the work day, waitressing at the Red Key on Saturday nights and prowling Broad Ripple music venues the rest of the time.
