Another Funky Sermon (Again)
Alan Hague has given me permission to reprint a poem that was published in the Broad Ripple Gazette in 2005.
I would like to dedicate this printing of 'Another Funky Sermon' to Emily Dickinson. Her words are truly "Groovin at a level that heals people."
Another Funky Sermon
Don't worship me.
Be my brother
&
my sister
&
my mother
&
my father.
Watch me groove.
I'm groovin' at a level
That heals people.
When I was born
3 came from
Far away
Because they saw
My star.
You have
A star 2-
Just as bright
And
As bold
As mine.
We come from
The SAME SOURCE.
And when U Really
Figure Out
How to Get
The Groove
Even I
Will Weep.
