Installation Nation Event a Hit
The Primary Colours art event, Installation Nation, was held at the Art Center recently. The nonprofit arts organization, Primary Colours, will have an "Art vs. Art" event at the Vogue on September 25 according to Brian Short, President (See picture at right with his son Liam). The "top 32" art works will be on display at the September Broad Ripple Friday night gallery walk. There were many great exhibits including "Behind Closed Doors" art piece by local artist Lance Pruitt which let viewers peek inside the doors. All the work was very interactive and the Asian inspired tacos at the Food Truck were a nice touch too.

Summer may just be getting started, but not for the BR Pool. Don't forget the Broad Ripple Park pool closes August 2, 2015. The only option for outdoor swimming now is the Monon Center in Carmel which usually stays open to Labor Day. (The Jordan Y is a membership facility.)

Ruins exhibit work underway, bike racks coming
Also at Holliday Park, the renovation of the Ruins (exhibit) is well underway. The Friends of Holliday Park raised over $3.2 million for this and the exhibit hall renovation according to Sarah Kunz of Friends. Also coming to the ruins: bike racks. Kunz noted that another good idea would be a bike trail to/from Holliday Park. The Park lacks both.

Monon open 24 hours
Don't forget the Monon Trail is now legally open 24 hours a day.
