Taylor Smith is the banner artist in this issue. Taylor's molecular & chemical still life work documents her interest in science, nature, organic chemistry and examining life on a more detailed level. Her work is a calculated, modern interpretation of traditional still life, elements of graphic design and abstract expressionism.
Taylor studied at Indiana University and the Akademie der Bildenden Künste (Academy of Fine Arts) in Berlin. Her art has been exhibited worldwide and her work is held in wide-ranging public and private collections. Taylor lives with her family in the Broad Ripple area and maintains a painting studio downtown at the Stutz Building. "I am not sure how to explain the way in which living, working and studying in Europe informs my art today, but I know that it would not exist in it's current form without that formative experience. I would be a vastly different person today had I not decided to follow that path." - Taylor Smith
