Frog's Random Rippling - Milan Indians at Plump's Last Shot
posted: Apr. 17, 2015
On April 3rd, 2015,, in the final throes of March madness, six of the 1954 State Champion Milan Indians converged upon Plump's Last Shot, 6416 Cornell Avenue, (etc). The breakfast, hosted by Jonathan Plump, was two-fold. One, to afford the Broad Ripple basketball fans an opportunity to meet and greet local basketball legends and two, to have a place where they could meet and autograph balls, pictures, and memorabilia from the movie "HOOSIERS" . These autographed items along with signed certificates of authenticity were to be auctioned to benefit the "Gift of Life Program" providing life-saving surgeries, in concert with Indianapolis hospitals, for children with no hope of receiving medical care in their own country. Rotary International sent Bobby a note on 3/15/2015 and I quote "Bobby, With help from people like you we raised over $218,000 for Gift of Life. This can be matched with Rotary Foundation funds for a greater impact." Some of the autographed items also went to the Milan Museum.
(L to R): Bobby Plump, Gene White, Ray Craft, Rollin Cutter, Roger Schroder, Glen Butte and host Jonathan Plump.
