There were two items on the agenda of the February 2015 public meeting of the Broad Ripple Village Association (BRVA) Land Use and Development Committee at the Indianapolis Art Center. The meeting was called to order by Chris McElwee.

1) 6181 Carrollton Avenue. Sam Snell, Realtor regarding information before filing for a variance to use this property for a small business with two employees, minimal to no client traffic, and no yard signage.

This item was for information only, to see if the BRVA had any questions about the business and its proposed use of the house. The business is not a retail insurance business but an insurance alliance. The plan is to occupy the home for 2-3 years, then revert the zoning back to residential upon relocating.

2) 6163 College Avenue, Bill Woolf, owner of Bill Hair Design regarding the removal of the garage for space to help the maneuverability for parking.

This item was a follow-up to a previous zoning variance from many years ago. That variance had a stipulation in it saying that when the garage is to be removed, the BRVA is to be contacted 90 days in advance. The removal of the garage will allow for an additional parking spot or two and improve maneuverability.

The next scheduled meeting of the committee is March 24, 2015, at 6pm at the Indianapolis Art Center.
