Laura Crawford is the banner artist in this issue. Laura is a Broad Ripple resident who has painted off and on her whole life. She paints in acrylics, scenes of movement and color. Cloudscapes are her latest challenge...big skies and rural scenes. Laura is inspired by her lovely, accomplished painter grandmother, Mary Belle Moffett and by her dear art club group of friends who create together and support each other.

By day, Laura is a medical informatics nerd who works to improve the flow of knowledge between medical research and clinical practice. She lives happily and gratefully, rooted in Broad Ripple with her beloved sculptor/engineer/fellow nerd husband Ninev Zia, their amazing, adventurous, college-age son Taylor Zia, and Charlie, a singular, handsome old orange cat.
