Streaker
Friday, June 27, 2014
Monkey's Tale
925 E Westfield Blvd - 21+, 9:30 PM - 2:00 AM
I'm not sure how to describe Streaker other than they big old rock and roll fun and you can't help but dance. And that is all you need to know really. Since neither Streaker nor the Monkey's Tale has a website you'll have to come and see for yourself.
I'll see you there!

Cari Ray & The Loaners
Saturday, June 28, 2014
Buck Creek Winery
11747 Indian Creek Rd S.
all-ages, free, 4:00 - 8:00 PM
Cari Ray is celebrating this release of her most-excellent album, Swagger, with an appropriately named - for this show anyway - Wine About It 2014 tour this summer.
If you haven't heard Cari perform yet, shame on me. She is one of those wonderful singer-songwriters whose music I play constantly that I think everyone already knows about so I don't write about them often enough.
Cari has it all - great voice, songs that poke at your heart, sincerity, and a charming way that pulls it all together. Swing over the Cari's website and order her new record and hightail it to Buck Creek to see for yourself.

Jewish Community Center Member & Staff Art Exhibit
July 1 - August 8, 2014
Opening Reception Tuesday, July 8, 5:30 - 7:30
all-ages, free, gallery open JCC building hours
I love collective art shows, they are typically a mix of styles, subjects, and mediums. This show features the work of the talented members and staff of the Jewish Community Center. There is a meet the artists (and enjoy some yummy snacks) reception on Tuesday, July 8 from 5:30 to 7:30.
Did you know that the JCC is celebrating their 100th Anniversary? The Gallery is open to the public and you're welcome to pop in anytime the center is open (M-Th 5:30 AM - 10:00 PM, F 5:30 AM - 6:00 PM, S & S 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM). What other gallery is open at 5:30 in the morning and stays open until 10:00 during the week? Perfect for all of you early-morning and night-owl folks.

Not-for-profit director by day, music writer by night, Nora Spitznogle reviews music that happened and previews music and events around Broad Ripple Village. Nora managed CATH Inc coffeehouse at 54th Street and College Avenue for seven years. During that time she hosted hundreds of local and touring musicians, both at the coffeehouse and her home. When CATH closed in 2004 and the music was no longer coming to her, she had to wander from her corner of Broad Ripple to see what is happening elsewhere. You can find her at Second Helpings during the work day, waitressing at the Red Key on Saturday nights and prowling Broad Ripple music venues the rest of the time.
