New Hotel Opens May 1
The Hotel Broad Ripple will open May 1, 2014. Reservations may be made on their website (www.hotelbroadripple.com) or by calling Debra at 442-8017. The bar and restaurant - complete with a deck facing the Monon Trail - will open around June 1. The hotel has 9 units.
The hotel construction also caused the recent closure of Westfield Boulevard at 65th Avenue. A private contractor was rerouting the sanitary and storm lines.

IMPD bike patrols on the Monon Trail
IMPD bike patrol officers Stephen Smalley and John Wall patrol the Monon from their North Side IMPD Unit. The IMPD North Unit has established a bike patrol to patrol area bike paths including the Monon, Fall Creek, and other area trails. The Unit consists of 4 officers and one sergeant.
This is in addition to Indy Parks which also has its own rangers and has primary responsibility for safety on the Monon.

Keep dogs on leash at Marott Park
Did you know that your dog must be on a leash at Marott Park? Indy Park Rangers and IMPD can ticket violators of parks/city ordinances and fines/fees are $50.00. Indeed, pets must be on leash on Indy Parks property according to Maureen Faul of Indy Parks. However, Indy Parks has four designated "Bark Parks" or Canine Companion Zones, one on each side of the city where Fido can roam free: North - Broad Ripple Park, East - Paul Ruster Park, West - Gordon Gilmer @ Eagle Creek Park and South - Smock Park that are very popular.
