The Jazz Kitchen, 5377 College Avenue [OO23 on map], celebrated 20 years on April 1 [2014]. In 1994 David Allee opened the doors to what would be voted numerous times as one of the "Top 100 Jazz Clubs in the World" by DownBeat magazine. A signature Indianapolis locale for music, food and culture, The Jazz Kitchen consistently blends a contemporary feel with the rich jazz history of the city.

Since 1994, The Jazz Kitchen has presented the best in local, regional and international entertainment, hosting jazz legends such as J.J. Johnson, Ray Brown, Terence Blanchard, Harry Connick, Jr., Poncho Sanchez, Jimmy Smith, David "Fathead" Newman, James Moody, Victor Wooten and many more. The club continues to help drive the local music and culture scene in Indianapolis and has been a primary hub for the cultivation of new projects and opportunities for the city's fertile jazz music scenes.

The Jazz Kitchen boasts a menu of some of the most original and flavorful dishes in the city, combining the exciting flavors and influences of New Orleans and beyond. Highlights include homemade Spanish paella, eggplant tower, not-so-Cajun chicken, walnut-crusted salmon and an extensive collection of entrées from locally sourced vendors such as Kincaid's Meats.
