Friday, April 11, 2014
The Mousetrap
5565 N. Keystone Ave. - 21+, 9:30 PM - 3:00 AM, $5.
No Pit Cherries, sugar moon rabbit, Dell Zell, and Audiodacity promise to play not only with their respective bands, but to mix it up by swapping members and joining forces. The funk rock band Audiodacity was the winner of the most recent Battle of the Bands.
And if that isn't enough there will be seven artists painting "live" during the evening. This is your chance to look over the shoulders of Julie Young, Alex VanOsdol, Benjamin M. Church, Amy Ward, Jessica Cheesman, Jenna Mishelow, and Miranda Thomas as they create their art.

Indy CD and Vinyl - Luna Music - Vibes
Record Store Day marks the beginning of springtime for me - we'll finally be leaving our snow shovels behind, seeing long-lost neighbors, and music will fill the streets. I'll have the schedule of music in the next issue of the Broad Ripple Gazette, in the meantime I want to make sure you've got the afternoon/early evening of April 19 reserved for music and celebrating the new season. Check out the Record Store Day website for special RSD releases of music and exclusive offers.
Not-for-profit director by day, music writer by night, Nora Spitznogle reviews music that happened and previews music and events around Broad Ripple Village. Nora managed CATH Inc coffeehouse at 54th Street and College Avenue for seven years. During that time she hosted hundreds of local and touring musicians, both at the coffeehouse and her home. When CATH closed in 2004 and the music was no longer coming to her, she had to wander from her corner of Broad Ripple to see what is happening elsewhere. You can find her at Second Helpings during the work day, waitressing at the Red Key on Saturday nights and prowling Broad Ripple music venues the rest of the time. Visit Nora's Web site
