Random Rippling - IndyCD reopening party
posted: Feb. 21, 2014
Indy CD and Vinyl, 806 Broad Ripple Avenue [H4 on map], has been a strong supporter of the Gazette for years. Local support is what allows us to continue to bring you the Gazette free every two weeks. The local record store started advertising in the Gazette in our 10th issue, back in 2004. Original owner Rick Zeigler wrote the column Rick on the Records from February 2006 through January 2011. A little history from Indy CD and Vinyl, the largest independent record store in Central Indiana, "Originally established in Salt Lake City in 1993 by Rick Zeigler, the shop migrated to Indianapolis in 2001, picking up the whole brick and mortar and settling in the heart of the historic Broad Ripple, right on Broad Ripple Avenue."
Recently, Rick sold the store to long-time store manager Annie Skinner, her husband Andy Skinner, and friend Eric Davis. Rick is moving to Muncie to focus on his work with Muncie Three Trails Music Series and other not-for-profit endeavors in the Muncie area.
On February 8, 2014, Indy CD and Vinyl reopened after a week-long remodeling for a weekend of in store DJs and special discounts.
