Happy Holidays to all! We have a lot going on in the Ripple and beyond for the Holidays. First things first. Before you get a gift for someone, get yourself some health insurance.
Uninsured? Enroll for health insurance by December 23
Do you lack health insurance? Enroll by December 23, 2013, to start your Affordable Care Act health insurance coverage by January 1.
Premiums may be free or very low cost depending on your income.
To enroll in the Health Exchange Marketplace, call 800/318-2596 or go to www.healthcare.gov. Given the problems with the website, it may be quicker to print off the application and mail it in or enroll over the phone. But hurry. Coverage starts January 1 if you apply by December 23.
Also, don't renew your current individual policy before January 1 as such policies may legally still allow exclusions for pre-existing conditions, onerous out of pocket maximums, strict coverage limits, as well as lifetime maximum caps all of which will become illegal as of January 1.
Don't risk it by going without health insurance. Not only will you pay a penalty on your tax return but you really need such insurance.
New Exhibits Open in the Indianapolis Art Center
On December 13, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m, the Indianapolis Art Center will have an opening reception for its new Winter Exhibition Series.
Ten local and regional artists will be on display in a wide array of mediums (dubbed Double Vision - Group Show) as well artist Danielle Riede (Color Bleed), and artist Matt Kenyon, Faculty of the Year

Also, the 7th annual SMART (Supportive Mentoring through Art) student exhibition is on display (a unique partnership with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Indianapolis and local youth in the underserved areas of the city).
Finally, you can buy faculty and student art work on the 13th and 14th, 2013, in a special sale.
Their new pop-up classes are going on this month. Make a holiday ornament in a new two hour classes. Both adult and children Pop Ups are available on a wide range of topics.

Holiday Happenings at Holliday Park
Enjoy the bird feeders (they have microphones) or take a walk in the wintry wonderland. On December 14, 2013, attend the book signing, Wildflowers of Holliday Park, with author Norma Wallman. This book makes a great gift for the nature lover on your shopping list.
