Don't expect to walk into American Village and find unhappy people. You will see residents and staff smiling. That's because American Village is one of the top senior communities in the state, with numerous recognitions.
The most recent recognition came when the community was recognized by American Senior Communities as the Community of the Year. American Senior Communities operates American Village, 2026 East 54th Street, and 62 other communities across the state.
American Village was also named a 5-star facility by the federal government, a distinction achieved by a low percentage of communities in the state, and it has received consecutive deficiency free inspections by the state of Indiana, including a deficiency free score this year.
Executive Director Jeff Cooper, who has led the community for 10 years, credits his team. "I think we excel predominantly because we consistently meet or exceed our customer's expectations. We have very low employee turnover which is indicative that the staff stays and enjoys working here. They take pride in what they do and love the residents," he said.
"My job is to find the best talent, the best people and ensure they have the resources to do their jobs," said Cooper.
American Village is located on 54 acres near Broad Ripple. It offers every senior living and health option, ranging from independent living apartments and garden homes, to assisted living, to long term care.
American Village specializes in providing excellent therapy through its Moving Forward program. It also provides care for people with dementia through its Auguste's Cottage. Short-term and Respite services are also available.
