• from Mr Broadus: the following BRMHS students competed in the National NAACP ACT-SO Finals competition as the representatives of BRMHS and the Indianapolis NAACP Chapter, during July 2013, in Orlando, Florida. Alfonso Carter (Vocal), Aaron Dorsett (Painting), Shakira Bowers (Sculpture), Michaela McCulley (Photography). Congratulations to our outstanding BRMHS students!
• Congratulations to Shaday Palacios Suarez, a recipient of the 2013 Excellence in Summer Service Education Award. Shaday worked as a counselor this summer for Campecine Youth Academy and was selected one of the 25 winners! At an awards dinner Fri. night she will receive an award to help with education expenses.
• Congratulations to your Rockets' Varsity Football Team! BRMHS thumped Washington 38 - 0. Go ROCKETS! All Football players are to meet in the cafeteria today at 2:45. Be on time, gentlemen!
• Congratulations to the Boys' and Girls' Soccer teams, who won their games last night! YOU KNOW, ROCKETS! For the boys, it was the first win in over two years. They defeated Gambold Prep 8 - 1. Samarcus Hollinsworth and Andrew Martinez each scored three goals; Malilk Robertson and Cesar Sicairos each scored one goal. It was a great team effort.
• Congratulations to the mighty Rockets on an outstanding victory over Boonville, 26 - 13. This win brings your Rockets season record to 3 - 2. Go Rockets!
• The results of High School Class Officer elections have been updated and are now as follows:
Freshman Class: Breeasia Dalton-Potter, President; Yuritzie Cardiel, Vice-president; Sha'Mira Kinslow, Treasurer; and Scott DeVoe, Class Representative. The Secretary's position is now open. If you are interested, see Mrs. DeBruicker in A235.
Sophomore Class: Marsha Jean-Baptiste, President; Cheynne Atwell, Vice-president. Positions still available for sophomore class. If you are interested, see Mrs. DeBruicker.
Junior Class: Opal Fox, President; Ciara Morris, Vice-president; Savannah James, Treasurer; Alayzia Perry, Secretary; and Jessica Parker, Solomon Mabry, Grace Danford, Lamiyah Vanhorn, and Rayanna Wilburn, Class Representatives.
