Random Rippling - Lobraico passes
posted: Jul. 19, 2013
The Village recently lost a long-time resident and retailer - Joe Lobraico of Lobraico's Rexall Drug Store. Joe's father Mike Lobraico opened the drug store in 1925 at the northeast corner of Westfield Boulevard and Guilford Avenue, in the former home of Watt's Drug Store. Lobraico's closed in 1990 and Chelsea's later moved into the building.
Above is Joe's QSL card. He held the Broad Ripple Ham Fest at his house on Westfield Boulevard for many years and had a large ham radio tower at his Carrollton house (across the street from where I grew up) and then at his Westfield house.
