Poetic Thoughts - brown rice blackened - by C.W. Pruitt II
posted: Jun. 21, 2013

Poetic Thoughts header

Do you ever mess something up when you are trying to do something good? The poem below provides one of the countless examples from my own life.

brown rice blackened

i ate a little rice
then burned a lot of rice
brown rice blackened
emitting smoke
fan turned on high
to suck off excess
to prevent smoke alarm
from blaring loudly
disturbing neighbors
then neighborhood

a little of the healthiest food
consumed
then wasted
