Katie Dolan is the event's Public Relations Chair. She and her husband Tom are MKNA residents. "This is a particularly exciting year for the Meridian-Kessler Home & Garden Tour - it's the Tour's 40th Anniversary! For 40 years, the Home and Garden Day Tour has showcased hundreds of homes - from large, prestigious estates to cozy bungalows and cottages. It is a remarkable milestone for this unique and historic neighborhood. As in years' past, visitors will enjoy strolling the tree-lined streets, enchanted by the neighborhood's charm and variety. Visitors will observe firsthand the pride and passion Meridian-Kessler residents feel for their homes and neighborhood. It is an event I love to support!" she explained.
MKNA's Home & Garden advance sale tickets can be purchased at www.mkhometour.com for $15 each. They are also available at: The Fresh Market (5415 North College Avenue), G. Thrapp Jewelers (5609 North Illinois Street), National Bank of Indianapolis (4930 North Pennsylvania Street), and all Café Patachou locations. MKNA's Annual Twilight Tour & Silent Auction is Friday, June 7, 2013, from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the grounds of the Basile Opera Center at 4011 North Pennsylvania Street.
"The Twilight party is a fantastic neighborhood kick-off to the Home & Garden Tour weekend. It's a great way to get together with neighbors and celebrate all that makes Meridian-Kessler such a wonderful place to live, work and play. This year's Twilight ticket gives you admission to three gorgeous homes not on this year's day tour, as well as dinner, music and a silent auction, all under a beautiful white tent in the heart of Meridian-Kessler. It is a party that is not to be missed!" explained Stacy Kult, Co-Chair of the Home & Garden Tour. Individuals interested in donating items or services can access this link for the Silent Auction donation form: http://www.mkhometour.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Silent_Auction_2013_donor-form.pdf. MKNA's website elaborates on their history: "Meridian-Kessler became a highly desirable neighborhood in the early 20th century. The area is home to many historic properties, including large estates as well as smaller bungalows and cottages. The home and garden tour was created in the 1970s to promote the history, beauty and unique architecture of the neighborhood. The neighborhood is bordered by Kessler Boulevard to the north, 38th Street on the south, Meridian Street on the west and the Monon Trail to the east."
MKNA's Home & Garden Tour and Twilight Tour & Silent Auction are unique opportunities to meet new neighbors, renew acquaintances and visit one of the city's most historic and scenic neighborhoods.
