This ad for Merit Shoes ran in 1953. The shoe store was at 818 Broad Ripple Avenue, where the mini Broad Ripple visitor center (vending machines and rack for publications) is now (in 2012).
Merit Shoes is touting X-Ray fitting! Oh my! Sounds dangerous.
