• Attucks and Broad Ripple Make Best High Schools Report. Indianapolis Public Schools is proud to be home to two high schools ranked among the best in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. Broad Ripple Magnet High School for the Arts and Humanities and Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School are included in the Best High Schools online report, released May 8. In partnership with the American Institutes for Research, U.S. News determined the rankings by analyzing how well students performed on state assessments and their preparedness for college based on success in Advanced Placement courses. The IPS schools earned a Bronze rating. They were among 4,850 schools named top performers.
• Congratulations to the Junior Class and their sponsors on a magnificent Midnight Masquerade prom! And congratulations to the 2012 prom court, King Greg Mansfield, Queen I'mon Robinson, Prince Brysen Arnold, and Princess Kimberly Graves. The date for prom 2013 has been set, ladies and gentlemen, for May 18. Mark your calendars!
• Congratulations to the following students selected for the 2012 Midnight Masquerade Prom Court: Candidates for Prince - Kendall Howard, Muta Irving, Duane Pulliam, and Brysen Arnold. Candidates for Princess - Daijon McDowell, Aliyah Evans, Kimberly Graves, and Cayla Richmond. Candidates for Queen - Monteria Phillips, Tiesha Washington, I'mon Robinson, and Stephanie Barrientos. Candidates for King - Ernest Burton, Tommie Archie, Gregory Mansfield, and Riccardo Johnson. Good luck, candidates.
• Asante Children's Theatre Pays Tribute to MICHAEL JACKSON. One of our 8th graders is in this show- Leondre Burgess. The Asante Children's Theatre has assembled a multi-generational cast of singers, dancers and poets to celebrate Michael Jackson's legacy through spoken word, song and dance. Th, June 7&14, Fri June 8&15, Sat June 9&16 8PM, Sun, June 10&17, 4PM. All eight performances will be held at the Madame Walker Theatre Center, 617 Indiana Avenue. Tickets may be purchased in advance on-line at www.asantechildrenstheatre.org/AYA_The_On_Line_Marketplace. Fri, Sat & Sun shows is $15 in advance; $20 day of show. All seats are $5 on Th, June 7.
