Most of us have heard of the health attributes of "resveratrol" a substance found in grape skins. Researchers say it has positive effects on heart health which is why a glass of red wine is considered to be "good medicine" by some. Now a new study in the Journal of Biological Chemistry suggests that another substance in red wine called "Piceatannol" may prevent fatty foods from becoming body fat, with small doses causing a 20% reduction in conversion and larger doses up to 80%. Piceatannol is found in berries, grapes, and red wine, but its greatest concentrations are in passion fruit.

How about creating a Passion Fruit Sangria? Blend 1 bottle of red wine (might I suggest Radio Boca Tempranillo), 1 cup of passion fruit juice, slice some strawberries and peaches and blend in a pitcher. Chill in the fridge then serve in a tall glass filled with ice.
