Random Rippling - BRMHS ISSMA Gold
posted: Mar. 30, 2012
The Middle School band from Broad Ripple Magnet High School, under the direction of John S. Hague achieved a Gold rating (high-quality performance) at the recent Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) competition. ISSMA is the primary organizing force behind competitions and festivals for school bands choirs and orchestras all across the state, including Solo + Ensemble, individuals and small groups.
BRMHS Director of Bands Kelly Hershey encouraged John S. Hague to take the band to the 2012 competition. This was BRMHS's first time to send a Middle School (grades 6-8) band to the contest. This was effectively the first time this group has ever performed together, because it is comprised of students from 3 separate classes who meet after-school only.
