Creating natural fragrances has made good business scents for Ambre Ashley-Crockett, Stephanie Harris and Rebecca Fox at Ambre Blends, located at 6544 Ferguson Street.

She is director of sales and marketing while Ms. Ashley-Crockett is creator & owner and Ms. Fox is production manager. Such products include oil essences, body creams, spritzers, pure olive oil soap, pure soy wax candles and lip remedy balm. Most of our products come in four delicate Ambre Blends exclusive scents: Ambre Essence, Invoke Essence, Solace Essence & the newly released Unmasque Essence," she added.

Ambre Blends is not a retail store, but a rapidly growing wholesaler as Ms. Harris emphasized, "We are not a storefront. We are a local business that operates, produces product and ships out Ambre Blends products across the country out of this location. We do have over 200 stores across the country that carry our product along with a thriving online store that is growing every day."

Those 200 stores selling Ambre Blends include 45 locations in the state of Indiana. Ms. Harris noted, "Ambre Blends online sales occupies 30 percent of our revenue and is growing every day. Choosing their business setting was as natural as the products they manufacture.

"Our Broad Ripple location is our 'headquarters'. It is our studio where we process orders, ship out orders and produce the products. We do host a holiday open house every year where we open our doors to the public and offer our product line at discount to pay homage to our loyal local fans that helped get this product line off the ground many years ago. The 2011 Ambre Blends Holiday Open House will be Saturday, December 10th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.," Ms. Harris mentioned. "We decided to run this company out of Broad Ripple because we love the community we live in and wanted to stay in it! Also, Broad Ripple is the first area that Ambre Blends product line landed and had a 'ripple' effect from here to across the country," she added. The Open House is a unique opportunity for customers to see and purchase Ambre Blends products on-site.

Describing the company's foundation, Ms. Harris said, "Ambre Ashley-Crockett created a couple of products in 1997 for personal use as she was going to school in Fort Collins, Colorado for massage therapy and aromatherapy. During this time, she was also an apprentice for an herbalist and continued to learn more about oils, herbs and their healing qualities. She was involved in making products for pregnancy and lactation for a company in Colorado. In 2001, she moved home to Indianapolis and brought back her knowledge and a few recipes that she developed herself and started incorporating them into her healing practice she started in mid-2001. The product line grew among her clients, friends, family and soon she was approached by a boutique in 2003 to inquire about carrying her products. From there, it took off like wildfire!" she exclaimed.

Ms. Ashley-Crockett was solely making, selling and running this company until she brought along her friends: Ms. Fox as production manager and Ms. Harris as sales & marketing director in 2008 to help her produce, market and sell her product line. She refers to the triumvirate as the 'pillars' of this company. Ambre Blends has grown tremendously from that point and has hired additional help along the way.
