MORE ways to beat the winter blahs
The good news: we are two weeks closer to spring than the last time you (hopefully) read my column. The better news: this week I have 14 more wines to cure the lingering case of the winter blahs. My prescription is 28 days of wine. A bottle a day to thaw the February freeze. Last column I listed reds. This week it's whites, roses and bubblies. The best news: all of the wines are less than $10 and can be found at many Indianapolis area wine stores.
White Wines:
Clos du Bois Pinot Grigio- crisp fresh light
Shine Riesling- hint of honeysuckle & apricot glee in a glass
Broadbent Vinho Verde- crisp, fizzy, citrus delight
L Opera Chardonnay-buttery, oaky, tropical fruit bomb
La Fiera Pinot Grigio- crowd pleasing off dry white
Gaudiana Blanc de Blanc- simple, soft, semi sweet Spanish blend
Ken Forester Petit Chenin Blanc- fresh, crisp, citrusy, dry.
Rose & Bubblies:
Buenas Ondes Syrah Rose- sassy, spicy, dry pink wine.
Colombelle Rose- another pink wine with oomph.
Tarrica White Zinfandel- semi sweet flavors of ginger and wild strawberries
Fruvi Sexy Sangria- The name says it all. Chill it and swill it!
Canella Peach Bellini- mini bottle of bliss
Riondo Bambino Prosecco- baby bubbles for molto mouthful
Cristalino Brut Cava- off dry bubbly; perfect toast for SPRING!
