2010 Penrod Arts Fair Chair, Jeff Kirk, Artist Chair, Jake Sturman and the entire membership of the Penrod Society are pleased to announce the selection of Indiana artist, Douglas David, as the 2010 recipient of the Penrod Arts Fair Mayors' Award. David, an artist known to many throughout the state for his tranquil landscapes and romantic florals and a 16 year veteran participant of Penrod, was selected out of over 300 artists juried into the 2010 Penrod Arts Fair.

"This award represents the 'best of the best,' and we are thrilled for Mr. David," said Jake Sturman, Artist Chairman of the Penrod Arts Fair.

The award was presented to David by Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard just after the noon hour amid rain showers that persisted throughout the mid-morning hours of the Fair.

All proceeds raised from the Penrod Arts Fair allow The Penrod Society to support cultural and art educational activities throughout Central Indiana in the form of grants. Over the past 44 years The Penrod Society has donated over 3 million dollars to local arts organizations.
