Peace Is from the two first grades classes taught by Karen Sullivan and Carole Damin. Stand from Brandon Washington, Antonio Cushingberry, Alena Mayer, Hannah Gilchrist, Kaleb Hall, Karen Sanchez, Eric Montgomery, Sabrina Solhan in Ms. Kuonen's Grade 8 English Class.
Peace is...
caring and sharing.
love.
hugging.
quiet.
playing with your friend.
going to church.
giving to others.
saying I'm sorry.
listening to music.
loving someone.
home.
helping others.
STAND
Pursuit of happiness
Passion in my soul
Victorious in my light
Never ending dream
Always grandly standing for
Liberty
Giving me power and strength
To endure hope
We are generations of action and justice
We are peace
Together we are strong
Together with one nation
Stand for each other
Never falling
Stand up for yourself
Unify the balance of peace
Stand up for your brothers and sisters
Stand up for what is right
Stand Strong
The Center for Inquiry at School 84, 57th and Central Avenue, recently celebrated the International Day of Peace. At CFI/84, students created a giant peace sign as seen here from the roof of the school. CFI/84 is also participating in Pennies for Peace, raising money to help build schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan. www.penniesforpeace.org
