TEN ONE TEN
Take a break from the Broad Ripple beat and explore one of the other cultural districts this Friday nite October 1st.... It's TEN ONE TEN: The Mass Ave Fall Gallery Walk on Massachusetts Avenue ( just 15 minutes south of Broad Ripple on College Avenue.)
TEN ONE TEN includes exhibitions of original artwork from local and nationally known artists at numerous galleries and businesses along the avenue. Indulge in food, wine, style, shopping and chocolate from independently owned businesses. Highlights of TEN ONE TEN include:
* Indy Fringe Theater - 719 E St Clair - take in a performance of "Something Wicked This Way Comes" www.indyfringe.org
* Art Bank - 811 Mass Ave - "Robbing the Bank" This Bohemian Style Art & Music Festival takes its name from the idea that artists gathered can rob inspiration from each other to create their own work with their own style--and thus music, art, weaving, sculpture, etc is always part of the event. 1:30 - 9 pm. The theme is "Trash As Art". Asset Recycling is donating wood, stools, chairs, etc for artists to paint LIVE in the ART BANK parking lot. Burmese Refugees will be weaving using a traditional loom. LIVE Music from Luke Austin Daugherty Jam Band. LIVE painting on recycled wood by Jenna Mishelow. Featured Artist Carmin Hurt. LIVE Mural painting from Murals.TV. Artist Drew Severns will be creating a "Robbing the Bank on Mass Ave" 4x8 mural LIVE from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. View the art as its created on murals.tv website.
* Goulding & Wood Pipe Organ Builders - 823 Mass Ave Tour the facility and see the renovated pipe organ that will soon be installed in the "new" Old Centrum Building on the near Northside. 5 - 9 pm
* Evolve Salon - 872 Mass Ave is turning 4. Happy Toddler Birthday to us! We are celebrating with kid friendly games, food and drink. Libations available for those who desire. If we are lucky, few tantrums from the owner and staff. Constance Scopeletis will be showing new works of art. 5 - 9 pm
* Mc Fee Gallery - 874 Mass Ave; See works from Oranje. Noon - 9 pm.
* Indianapolis Cultural Trail - 875 Mass Ave; 6 artists will be creating LIVE work at each of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail path lights.
* Kuaba Gallery - 876 Mass Ave; Support the Kuaba Humanitarian Foundation with a purchase from Kuaba Gallery. Noon - 9 pm
* Mass Ave Wine Shoppe - 878 Mass Ave- See the work of local artist/photographer Casey Jo Ailes on the Art Wall at MAWS; Experience LIVE art work on the sidewalk outside of the Shoppe. Noon - 9 pm
* Best Chocolate in Town - 880 Mass Ave- Enjoy LIVE art on the sidewalk outside and new Fall flavored truffles inside. 11 am - 9 pm.
* R Bistro - 888 Mass Ave; Award winning chef features local ingredients on contemporary menu; 5 - 10 pm
