Random Rippling - Memories shared at Peggy Taylor's Salon open house
posted: Jul. 23, 2010
Friends and customers packed Peggy Taylor's Salon for the July 17 open house to remember the 35 years at the corner of 64th and Guilford Avenue. Peggy recently announced that the salon would be closing and that she would retire.
A mini reunion of the 6372 Guilford Avenue Victorian house. Les Duvall (Indiana State Senator 1966-1985), Peggy Taylor, and Rebecca Edie. Les Duvall's family moved in with his grandparents during the depression. Rebecca Edie lived there in the late 1950's and early 1960's. Peggy opened the salon in 1975.
Three "generations" met at the open house (see photo above). Les Duvall (Indiana State Senator from 1966-1985) and Rebecca Edie stopped in to see Peggy and get a tour of the house.
The interior woodwork includes large, ornate pieces from the downtown Indianapolis Claypool hotel (razed in 1969).
