Red Mango frozen yogurt offers customers a variety of cool and healthy treats that can be enjoyed year-round. Located at 914 Broad Ripple Avenue, Red Mango is open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Their yogurt fresh fruit toppings include bananas, blackberries, blueberries, mandarin oranges, mangoes, pineapples, raspberries and strawberries that range from 10 to 30 calories per serving.
Red Mango's frozen yogurt is available in small (5 oz), medium (8 oz) and large (11 oz) containers. Other menu items include iced teas (lemonade green tea, vanilla black tea and wild hibiscus), parfaits (mixed berry and tropical) and smoothies (acai berry, pomegranate, strawberry banana and tropical mango).
Red Mango founder and CEO Dan Kim recently described his company's product in the magazine 944 to writer Emily Reyes: "If you go back to what frozen yogurt needs to be, which is real yogurt, there's only one real flavor. We stuck with that natural flavor. We're doing to frozen yogurt what Starbucks did to coffee by taking a relatively ordinary item like coffee or in our case, frozen yogurt and elevating it to a premium experience in terms of flavor, sight and sound," he explained. Mr. Kim was a former investment banker with Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette who graduated from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
A customer posted the local review of Red Mango at www.yelp.com: "Everything is all natural and fresh and tastes amazing! I tried the pomegranate flavor the first time and then the tangomanium when I went there today. I always have my yogurt with strawberries, mango and kiwi, but they also offer frozen yogurt chips and various kinds of cereal for toppings. It's definitely a great addition to Broad Ripple!" she said.
Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Red Mango has over 40 frozen yogurt shops nationwide. In addition to their Broad Ripple location, they have a shop on Purdue University's West Lafayette campus and a self-serve outlet on Indiana University's Bloomington campus.
According to their website, www.redmangousa.com, their frozen yogurt is "made only with kosher ingredients that is all-natural, nonfat and gluten-free produced by licensed U.S. dairy farmers and delivered fresh to each store. The most differentiating factor is its all-natural nonfat frozen yogurt has all of yogurt's natural goodness, such as calcium, protein, live and active cultures that are good for your body." Live and active cultures are "friendly bacteria" similar to what naturally exist in the human digestive system.
Red Mango frozen yogurt can provide a refreshing respite from the summer heat and humidity.
