Life's Ripples from Broad Ripple United Methodist Church by Rev. Timothy Rasmussen
posted: Jun. 25, 2010
As many of you know by now, I am retiring from full time ministry in the United Methodist Church after 38 plus years of service. Leaving the pulpit of Broad Ripple UMC has been a difficult decision for a lot of reasons, but mostly I'll miss the people who worship there as they are truly the most loving, friendly congregation that has been my pleasure to serve.
When Alan started this paper he asked me to write a column because the church I served was the only church in the area that had Broad Ripple in its name. I thank Alan for the invitation to write for his paper, and the opportunity to share my thoughts and experiences with the Broad Ripple Community.
Several people have suggested that I continue to write the column, and although I am truly honored by that sentiment I feel it is time to let another pastor from another congregation share their thoughts with you.
Thank you for allowing me into your homes and businesses over the past years. The positive response I have received from the community has meant a great deal to me.
Shalom.
