Random Rippling - Public transit meeting held in Midtown
posted: May 28, 2010
On Earth Day a mass transit meeting was held at 40th and Pennsylvania Street. This was a public gathering of Midtown residents to meet with Indy Connect, which is made up of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), the Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority (CIRTA), and IndyGo-or the Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation (IPTC).
Lori Miser, Executive Director of MPO, explained that Indy Connect is developing a 25-year long-range plan for mass transit in central Indiana. The plan includes roads, bike trails, buses, commuter and light rail systems. These public meetings are being held early in the process to get the input from the residents. Meetings will continue in October and November, refining the plan. The goal is to have the plan completed by December. For more information www.indyconnect.org
