Gazelle replaced Gazette for April 1
posted: Apr. 16, 2010
With issue #7's delivery day falling right on April 1, 2010, we had to produce a fake front page for it. People still mention the April Fool issue from five years ago when we replaced the Vogue with a 10-story bank (see the front page story in issue Volume 2 Number 7 on www.broadripplegazette.com).
This year we had two fake articles and two fake "In This Issue" teasers. The first article was written by my son about the removal of the lane markings from all Indianapolis streets. The second was about the secession of Broad Ripple Village from Indianapolis. The story was continued on page 22 where it was explained that the stories were jokes, but, some readers never made it that far.
We had an entry to the Rene's Bakery Mistakes Can Be Sweet contest for the "misspelling" of Gazette as Gazelle!
We hope everyone had a good laugh. Thanks to all of you for your loyal readership.
