Entrepreneurs Brittney Manning and Mesha Cabbell describe the Broad Ripple women's clothing shop they co-own at 839 Westfield Boulevard.
"At Rain Boutique, we offer the latest contemporary and trendy fashions for ladies that love to look good and appreciate a unique style. We cater to the woman who loves to look her best at an affordable price," explained Mrs. Manning.

Establishing their friendship early in life, childhood friends Mesha and Brittney met in daycare at Kiddie Land. "We met when we were two [years old] and we have been friends ever since," noted Mesha. "We have always been interested in fashion. Our Barbies even had boutiques and although we've given up dolls years ago, it was then that we realized we had a passion for fashion. As we grew tired of seeing a limited number of styles throughout the mall, we realized we needed to offer women something different, something better," she emphasized. They are both originally from Indianapolis and graduated from North Central High School.
Bringing what was once a dream to reality is what piqued their interest in opening the Indianapolis shop on May 22, 2009 in Broad Ripple and a second boutique in Claremont, California on December 4, 2009. They chose a city that is north of Los Angeles because "The area in Claremont is similar to Broad Ripple. We thought it would be nice to open a store there," Brittney said. She manages the Indianapolis boutique while Mesha manages the west coast location.
"We are planning our One Year Anniversary Celebration Saturday, May 22, 2010! We consider every day special at Rain. We have found a way to make fashion fun and exciting. The event will be open to the public during business hours with fun, fashion, giveaways and hors d'oeuvres," Mesha mentioned.
Customers can check www.rainboutiqueinc.com or call 602-3731 for new springtime hours as they change from current winter hours. They have a Facebook fan page that is updated regularly with pictures of the items they receive. Rain Boutique currently has a winter clothing sale where customers can buy one item and get the second item of equal or lesser value at one-half off the price.
As young entrepreneurs, Brittney and Mesha are committed to creating a great shopping experience for all of their guests. "As consumers in our everyday lives, we constantly remind ourselves how important it is to provide the best fashions for the best price. We don't want our customers to leave satisfied, we want them to leave happy!" Brittney said.
As Rain Boutique's first anniversary approaches, spring will be in full bloom with the latest in contemporary women's fashions in Broad Ripple Village.
