Random Rippling - dangerous road
posted: Feb. 05, 2010
A warning to drivers. The interim state of Broad Ripple Avenue near Evanston has left the dangerous. There is a seam in the pavement that many drivers in the right east-bound lane follow as the lane indicator. This leads them into a collision path with the left lane. Your editor has both almost been hit more than once and has been "fooled" by the seam.
Looking east on Broad Ripple Avenue toward Evanston. The new intersection layout has moved lanes to the right, but without proper lane markings the pavement seam (visible in the photo starting in the lower right corner) confuses drivers.
A few days after the attendees of the January BRVA meeting alerted City of Indianapolis officials to the state of the alley just south of Broad Ripple Avenue that runs east of Carrollton Avenue, workers were seen cleaning things up.
