The Addendum Gallery of Fine Art & Accessories opened last May at 908 East Westfield Boulevard in Broad Ripple. Their home décor items provide customers an exquisite way to accent their residences.

"Everything we sell is American made, representing over 300 different artists, ranging from glassware and sculptures to tabletop art", explained Addendum owner Shane Hartke. Artists represented in the store include New York-based metalsmith Michael Aram and Florida-based designer Teresa Costa, who makes distinctive clocks, lamps and mirrors.

A native of Lafayette, Indiana, Hartke earned a bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Working with Starwood Hotels after graduation, he launched their "W" hotel brand that introduced him to various artists like Aram, who did work with Starwood. His collection at Addendum includes a Romaine salad bowl, Daffodil artichoke serving set, Lotus candleholders, a ceramic cheese set, wisteria vases and picture frames.
Other fine art in the store includes New York-based designer Elizabeth Garvin's architectural jewelry, California artist Diane Markin's glass house birds, New York artisan Grace Gunning's small reliquary boxes and a clock from Indiana designer Vincent Leman. North Carolina designer Holden McCurry's adobe-inspired friendship houses, journey boats and prayer towers resemble an artisan village.

Addendum will re-open their Carmel store this summer as part of its City Center Project that includes a concert hall currently under construction. "The shop closed last year when the lease was up, but the store size and location in Broad Ripple is perfect. It's been a great move as sales have been up. We had a great holiday season," Hartke noted.
Addendum's store hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday with extended hours on Thursday and Friday evenings and Noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Since their merchandising mix rotates on an ongoing basis, designers displays may vary, but can be discovered by calling 253-3400.
