posted: Dec. 05, 2008
The 6th annual Drumstick Dash was held on Thanksgiving morning. A record field of 7,000 participants, 2,000 more than last year's Dash. According to event organizer Don Carr, the Dash is expected to raise $125,000 for Wheeler Mission.
I stood in the median on Broad Ripple Avenue at the Monon Trail to photograph the Dash and was engulfed by a sea of runners and walkers for a full 20 minutes. According to the event's website www.tuxbro.com the top ten runners in the 4.5 mile race were: 1 Jeff Powers (22:01.5), 2 John Little (22:27.2), 3 Aaron Moody (22:31.4), 4 Antonio McDaniel (22:38.8), 5 Jessie Davis (22:40.9), 6 David Goodman (23:10.1), 7 Aaron Harding (23:13.8), 8 Lance Nelson (23:19.0), 9 Ryan Hopper (23:28.0), and 10 Dan Kinn (23:33.2).
