The 13th annual Indiana Microbrewers Festival filled Opti-Park, located at 66th and Carrollton Avenue, on July 19, 2008. The event presented by the Brewers of Indiana Guild had more than 20 local breweries and almost as many from outside Indiana. J. Gumbo's, Hogshead BBQ, King David Dogs, and Marco's Pizza served up the food to go with the thousands of Microbrew samples that were handed out.
The Stringtown Pickers and Woodstove Flapjacks provided entertainment under a large tent cooled by two much appreciated Port-A-Cool 2000 units. More entertainment was provided by attendees participating in the keg toss contest.
This year's ReplicAle (a theme recipe followed by several breweries) was a Scottish 70/- beer from a 19th century recipe. The Broad Ripple Brew Pub's ReplicAle entry will be available at the pub after the event.
Proceeds from the fest support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Indiana Chapter and the Northside Indianapolis Chapter of Optimists International.
Brugge Brasserie sampled their Belgian beers at the fest.
Woodstove Flapjacks performed at the Brew Fest.
