A letter from Chef Prosper

Dear Friends and Customers,
After 32 years spent in the United States as a private Chef here in Indianapolis, I will be leaving for the south of France on June 9th, 2008. I have been known as the ambassador of Provencal Cuisine. I would like to thank the whole community for supporting my chef business all these years. I hope I have brought joy and culinary experience to your homes. It's hard to say good bye to 32 years, those who I could not say goodbye personally to the thought was there for everyone, no exception.
Aurevioir,
Chef Prosper

Background:
Many of our readers have known and loved Chef Prosper for years. Our readers may remember the article the Gazette published in Volume 3 Issue number 9 where we explored some of Prosper's history. Briefly, Chef Namias Prosper arrived in the United States in 1974. He lived in California for a year before coming to Indianapolis. He opened a coffee shop in the 70's on east 10th Street next to the Rivoli Theater. He worked at Renee's French Restaurant (on Westfield Boulevard at Guilford, where Girly Chic Boutique is today) for three years. He worked at several restaurants over the years and then moved to France for two years.
Upon returning, Prosper started his private chef business, Chef a la Carte, cooking for customers such as Brenda and Mel Simon, Senator Bayh, Secretary of Defense William Cohen, and many CEOs. Prosper prepared food for many parties for IUPUI. His private chef business expanded to in-home private classes. Along with Becky Hostetter, Prosper hosted Chef's Rendezvous, a radio program on WICR 88.7 in 2004 and 2005.
Prosper will continue to make his Provence home available for vacationing. Details can be found at www.vrbo.com/44226
