Old Town of Broad Ripple Meeting Minutes #104

The Town of Broad Ripple was incorporated in 1894, and started holding regular meetings at that time. In each issue, I will print my transcription of the old Town of Broad Ripple meeting minutes. These are taken from the original, hand-written minutes that contain many spelling errors. I have transcribed all the records as they were entered, including errors. I will make some corrections to the text in brackets [ ]. The original minutes books are at the Indiana State Archives at 6440 E. 30th St.

Jun 5th 1900
The Board of Trustees met in regular Session all being present. The Minuts of the preveous Meeting read and approved as read. Chas Silvey was allowed $61.87 for 2750 ft of Bridge Lumber also of Bill of Henry Gresh for Nails and Sundrys for $1.79 and the Marshalls Bill for $25.00 and one dollar for Signpainting and the Bill of Dept Marshall for $3.00 was allso allowed. It was ordered that the Board hold a special Meeting on the 10th of July next and transact such business as may come before the board. No other business, the meeting adjouned.

Aug 7th 1900
Board met in regular Session all the Trustees being present. The Minuts of the previous Meeting read and approved. Bills for the payment of Th Medsker for $30.10 for services as Marshall and $1.25 for Imus(?) Day for Dep Marshall where allowed. The Clerk was ordered to procure 2 locks for the Jail and the Marshall was given permission to emply 2 extra Dep Marshalls for Old Settlers Day.
No further Business the Board adjourned
