Derby Drinks
I spent last Saturday wearing a hat and cheering on the ponies at Churchill Downs during the 154th Running of the Kentucky Derby. One of the "new" beverages available was The Lily-a blend of vodka, cranberry juice and sprig of mint served in the commemorative glass. Nice option for those who don't like the bourbon blast of the classic Mint Julep.
IN MY BIN
Ostatu Bianco, Rioja, Spain-dry, white wine with refreshing flavors of citrus and tangerine.
ZaZa Rose of Grenache, Spain-gorgeous nose of wild strawberries, raspberries. Crisp, bone-dry pink wine. Delish!
Blockhead Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon, Australia-Full bodied, rustic red with burly, chewy flavors of blackberry, herbs, black cherry.
