Life's Ripples from Broad Ripple United Methodist Church by Rev. Timothy Rasmussen

We are doing Spring cleaning at our house, and this year Serena, my wife, decided everything from top to bottom was to be done. We started by tearing out our fence row of dead trees and plants, and weeding all around the house. We cleaned out our shed and threw away old equipment. Then we tore out old carpet to get to the hard wood flooring underneath. We rented a large dumpster and filled it full.
All this got me thinking about our lives. We need to periodically prune, clean up, and tear out old thoughts, past hurts and pains, and throw them away. We let all types of clutter build up, and if we don't get rid of some of these things, over time they will weigh us down and hold us back from reaching out to seize new opportunities and a life of possibilities.
So as you clean up for spring, take a serious look at yourself, and find out what else you can change, renew, or discard to gain a new perspective in you life.
