Old Town of Broad Ripple Meeting Minutes #102
posted: Apr. 25, 2008
The Town of Broad Ripple was incorporated in 1894, and started holding regular meetings at that time. In each issue, I will print my transcription of the old Town of Broad Ripple meeting minutes. These are taken from the original, hand-written minutes that contain many spelling errors. I have transcribed all the records as they were entered, including errors. I will make some corrections to the text in brackets [ ]. The original minutes books are at the Indiana State Archives at 6440 E. 30th St.
Here is the one-hundred second installment:

Healy (19.50) Nineteen Dollars and fifty cents. Moved and recorded that the Clerk procure Scotts compiled _____ on fifty ____ Forms carried. The Marshall was instructed to see what Lumber would cost to floor thee Iron Fridge and report at the next meeting. No further Business. The board adjourned.
The Board then adjourned.
John O Brenneman Pres of Board
A.B.S. Florander clerk
[It is interesting to note that after the 1900 election of the new clerk, the handwriting is almost unreadable in the minutes book. Florander's writing style is quite elaborate, but his pen lets out too much ink. I have included the page below.]
