SAINTLY SIPPERS

D.Y.O.G.B
Drink your own green beer then find some truly tasty flavors to celebrate the 17th. None are from the Emerald Isle but all offer up that feisty Irish spirit-bold, unforgettable, enjoyable and you don't have to find a pot of gold to buy a bottle or two.
The Alliance - fruity smooth dry white blend of Marsanne and Viognier from Australia that would be DE-licious with Corned Beef and Cabbage.
Trumpeter Merlot - easy drinking medium bodied red from Argentina filled with easy drinking, dry, fresh flavors of cherry and plum. Toast worthy wine that is perfect toasting wine for any Irish toast.

Party ON: Celebrate St Joseph's Day
No surprise that the Italians have a saint to fete in March, which means MORE great food, wine and fun for all. March 19th is observed as St Joseph's day and Italians pay homage by donning red and drinking wine and celebrating the many delicious foods of Italy.
We figure you have March 18 to recover then enjoy a bottle or two of these delectable, wines under $15.
Sant' Appiano Chianti DOCG - delicious softly dry red with chewy tannins, cherries; perfect with grilled lamb, beef or pork. Serve with garlic/rosemary-mashed potatoes. . . OR enjoy with lasagna or red clam sauce on pasta, or pizza with black olives and spicy Italian sausage.
Di Lenardo Pinot Grigio Grave - Silky, smooth medium bodied white with fresh citrus flavors. Well balanced. The real deal.
Stella Rosa Il Conte d'Alba - sweet, juicy red blend. BRING ON THE PIZZA AND CALZONE!

IN MY BIN:
Greg Norman 2005 Petite Syrah, Paso Robles - Gosh, this wine made me blush as the first drink was so wonderfully hedonistic. Silky, seductive, balanced. Ripe fruit flavors of blackberry, mulberry, red raspberry. Soft touch of anise and violets in the nose. Pure pleasure and since it's from the famed golfer's winery it is perfect for fore play-along with Broad Ripple Brew Pub Blackened Tuna sandwich or Bazbeaux Hawaiian pizza or Naked Tchopstix Playboy roll.
