St. Patrick's day is approaching, and with it comes thoughts of four leaf clovers and "the luck of the Irish." The mascot for lucky charms cereal is a leprechaun which is also associated with St. Patrick's Day. If we're honest, we have our own special lucky charm such as a rabbit's foot or a special piece of clothing that we were wearing when something good happened to us. Ball players do all sorts of interesting things to bring on a lucky streak of winning, or to keep one going. This all sounds like great fun, but if looked at honestly we'd have to admit that every lucky streak or winning streak comes to an end.

Scripture tells us we are to place our trust in nothing other than God. Faith is what is important to God. God does not do luck. We have often heard others speak of "the lucky few", but God is for everyone. It makes no difference how lucky or how important society says you are, because every single person is equally important to God. It really doesn't matter what you have or don't have, or what you have or haven't done. God loves you individually and there is nothing you can do to change that. So it doesn't matter how lucky you're feeling this St. Patty's Day because God loves you regardless.
