Old Town of Broad Ripple Meeting Minutes #97

The Town of Broad Ripple was incorporated in 1894, and started holding regular meetings at that time. In each issue, I will print my transcription of the old Town of Broad Ripple meeting minutes. These are taken from the original, hand-written minutes that contain many spelling errors. I have transcribed all the records as they were entered, including errors. I will make some corrections to the text in brackets [ ]. The original minutes books are at the Indiana State Archives at 6440 E. 30th St.

Here is the ninety-seventh installment:

1900 election document

Broad Ripple
5th May 1900
This is to certify that B.J. White, Richard Lemon and James H. Brady Town Clerk in and for the Town of Broad Ripple Marion County Indiana did on the 3rd day of May 1900 appear at the Sentinal Printing Companies office as election Commissioners for the Town of Broad Ripple for the purpose of securing ballots for the May election to be held on the first Monday in May 1900 for the Town of Broad Ripple county and state aforesaid, and on that day we received (343) three hundred and forty three ballots, and all other necessary supplies for the purpose of holding an election.

7th May 1900
On the above date I delivered to Chas. H. Brady as Inspector of Town election of Town of Broad Ripple Marion County State of Indiana 343 ballotts of which there were 132 voted leaving a balance of 211 for the election board to destroy. Said election was held on the 7th day of May 1900 in and for the said Town of Broad Ripple Marion County State of Indiana.
Said election board was C. H. Heady Inspector, C.L. Kirk and B.J. White Judges. Chas. Silvey and R. Lohman Clerks. One ballot was delivered to the Town Clerk to be placed on file.
