Wine Scene header

Very Superstitious

I am sure most of you are busy today, avoiding paths crossed by black cats or walking under ladders and making that extra effort to keep unlucky spirits away with a toss or two of salt over the left shoulder.
Time for some good spirits.
Here are a few that won't hoax your palate or wallet when it comes to big flavor and small price.
Hey Mambo Sultry Red - Mixed bag of red grapes come together to create a juicy, full-bodied, slightly spicy, sensuous and very smooth blend offering an assortment of flavors of black berried fruits. Great with pizza, burgers, ribs, or a hunk of Irish cheddar with port.
Yard Dog White - Funky label, funky wine. Crisp, tangy, lots of citrus, refreshing yet enough body to pair well with sushi, grilled or roast chicken, Thai and Indian cuisine.
Stellar Organics Shiraz Rose - Pink wine to bet on. Dry, crisp, more body than most thanks to the Shiraz grape that gives just enough of its blackberry, wild raspberry and soft spice notes to create a perfect drink for ham, pork chops, BBQ and sweet and sour chicken. No added sulfites to this bottle as well.
Ca De Medici Lambrusco - One fan of this sparkling red wine said drinking it is, "Like driving a VW Beetle": a blast from the past that is pure FUN!
Great bottle too for Holiday gift giving.
Hewitson Mermaids Muscadel - Lovely, dry, crisp white wine with floral nose and delicious flavors of tangerine and minerals.

Snack Attack

New to specialty shoppe's and vending machines:
Individual slices of Atkins Elegant Desserts Cheesecakes. The Noblesville-based company is test marketing single-serve, ready-to-eat treats in Caramel Turtle Fudge or Old Fashioned Creamy.
