BRVA elections: how to be involved
by Alan Hague
posted: Oct. 05, 2007
Fall has arrived and it is time for the annual Broad Ripple Village Association (BRVA) election. The election fills open positions on the BRVA Board of Directors.
The board consists of 13 director positions, 12 of which are currently filled. Three of those directors are at the end of their three year terms. This means four board director slots are open in the 2007 election. To run for one of these positions, any BRVA member in good standing (dues paid in full) may submit a nomination and a short biography of the nominee to the BRVA secretary, which must be received at least 10 days before the November 20 election.
Board director responsibilities include attending the two private board meetings each month, attending the monthly public meetings, serving on one or more BRVA committees and volunteering at BRVA events.
BRVA members in good standing can vote for up to four nominees at the November 20 BRVA public meeting, which will be held at the Indianapolis Art Center at 7pm. The Art Center is located just east of College on 67th Street.
If you are a BRVA member, please come to the November meeting to vote.
